EXPLORING THE HEART OF INTIMACY

I invite you into an evening wherein we go to the heart
of that which separates us into the heart of intimacy.

Through the very act of revealing ourselves to another do we experience intimacy.
When we allow our inner being to be expressed, regardless of how we are perceived or responded to, we feel gratitude as well as a greater connection with all that is around us.
In contrast, by withholding our inner process (by not sharing our feelings), do we keep them secret or in other words (as painful as it sounds), we make them "precious".
Tremendous amounts of vital energy is exerted in not expressing certain beliefs and behaviors because we don't believe they (or we) will be accepted by others. The root of this belief is our own embarrassment or shame around them. When we feel "safe" enough to share these beliefs and behaviors, we always feel great relief. This is because we have given them "freedom" from the hold that we have had on them.
A great master Swami Muktananda said that enlightenment is when "every thought, feeling, word, and action are aligned." A singular flow of consciousness from our inner to our outer worlds. At that moment there is a merging of the two seeming divergent worlds. This is how I define "intimacy:" "In-to-me-you-see." To the extent that we are transparent is to the exact degree that we experience intimacy.
Join me as we embark on a journey through group and diad excercises designed to deepen our experience of intimacy. And of course, we'll have to sing a little.

"Sahar prepared the space for growth and safety that set the stage for breakthrough experiences. For each session he crafted a provocative series of excercises designed to take us deep although he was willing to let go of the structure when he sensed the movement of Spirit in the moment." -Dawson Church, former CEO of Atrium Publisher's Group co-author of "Heart of The Healer" with Bernie Seigal and Norman Cousins

Some background on myself:
Back in the 70's, I experienced a profound awakening that lead me on a path of self-discovery. I had the honor of living with a spiritual master. During which time I received certification as a teacher of meditation and yoga. Through my membership in many men's groups I developed the series "Exploring The Male Heart;" a forum for men to experience the truth and beauty of their individual and collective Being. I also facilitate the series "Exploring The Human Heart"; an opportunity for men and women to develop greater understanding and compassion through collective exploration of gender wounding as well as by revealing each others unique gifts. My ideal in this work is that we be able to see and encourage each other to live in the highest expression possible.
I have been in private practice as a hypnotherapist, counselor, and reiki practitioner for 24 years and am grateful and priveledged to witness and facilitate my clients path of renewal and self-discovery.

Today, my wife's gentle manner consistantly teaches me compassion while my two son's (Julian,18 and Elijah,8) zest for life inspire me to a deeper understanding of myself.

As a percussionist I play tablas, djembe, and congas. I also lead kirtans; the most ecstatic and inspired music I know.
I teach The Sacred Art of Drumming; (usually a series of 8 classes) as a vehicle for peace, authentic expression, and deep connection. Drumming is a remarkable medium for meditation. To sit by oneself or in circle, I have found a minute of focused drumming to be a source of deep peace. I know of no better catalist to connect people.
I facilitate circles and rituals as well as teach classes. Come and "find your Rhythm."

As an outgrowth of an amazing intuition motivated, miracle-filled adventure, came the cd "Jammin' With The Infinite." I composed the music and then laid down a skeletal framework. I then invited my favorite local musicians to improvise over this however they were moved.
The arc of the cd crosses many genres and moods with a huge array of instrumentation from the world over; from Aboriginal didgeridoo to East Indian; from rock to blues this goreous creation has a very seductive appeal. Many listeners have commented on how wonderful this cd has been in creating a soundscape for lovemaking. It makes for a wonderful journey into one's inner landscape.
